in Numansdorp (2007)

Vandaag maakt koningin Beatrix bekend dat ze vanaf 30 april het stokje overdraagt aan haar zoon Willem Alexander en zijn geweldige vrouw, Maxima. Beatrix is de perfecte en liefdevolle vorstin geweest die goed was voor Nederland.

Op 7 november 2007 bracht ze een bezoek aan het dorp waar ik ben opgegroeid. Als beginnend fotograaf heb ik toen o.a. deze foto van haar gemaakt.
Op deze historische dag, vind ik het gepast om hier heel even bij stil te staan!

In de 12 maanden na 30 april zullen koning Willem Alexander en koningin Maxima een bezoek brengen aan alle provincies en ik hoop dan weer de kans te krijgen om op z’n minst één mooie foto te maken!

Today the queen of the Netherlands, Beatrix, announched that she is abdicating the throne in favour of her son, prince Willem Alexander and his wife, Maxima. Beatrix has been the perfect and beloving monarch which was good for the Netherlands.

On November 7th 2007, she visited the village where I grew up. As freshly started photographer I took the picture you see on the right.
On this historical day, I feel it’s appropriate to address a little message to that!

In the 12 months after April 30th, king Willem Alexander and queen Maxima wil visit all the provinces and I hope to get the opportunity to take at least one great shot!
